Serenity

Finding serenity in a largely strange, surreal new territory in our new world where persistence and resistance is required, is a challenge, indeed. I decided to do some mindful mental journeys, putting myself in a calm place by silently reminiscing, using a library of my own photographs as a travel guide.

Serenity, pictured below, is based on a whole cloth wool jersey that has been discharged. Other techniques include leaves stitched on a wash-away non-woven, hand dyed cotton, Shivia stick colorant, machine and hand stitching.

And, yes, it does put me in a quite serene place. Mission accomplished. Thank you, Betty!
