The Oasis

A long journey requires rest stops along the way. An oasis of calm with a natural thermal spring restores the spirit as well as rejuvenating the body. This piece is based on my impression of shadows on the water at Bitter Springs in the Northern Territory, Australia.

Materials: cotton, commercial batik, batting, fabric dye, fabric paint, commercial stencil, various threads

Techniques: hand dyed whole cloth, hand stenciled, machine applique, machine quilted
